Easy Magic

Easy magic tricks can be performed by almost anyone in many locations. Everyday items are the most commonly used props in these kinds of tricks. A cigarette can appear to levitate or move across the table because of static electricity even though the magician is actually lightly blowing the cigarette across the table.

Misdirection is the key to easy magic. The trick happens when people are focused on another part of the performance. It can happen right in plain sight, as long as the magician has misdirected their audience well enough. To make a coin disappear, merely pretend that it was switched into another hand even though it wasn’t. Palm the coin and focus on the empty hand. The audience should follow suit and when the coin is gone they will be astounded. Making it reappear can happen in a similar way.

One easy magic trick that can be performed with a deck of cards involves a matchstick and a ring. The magician wears the ring during their show, but before this trick they put the matchstick inside the ring so the ends stick out towards the front and back of the fingers. The audience shouldn’t see this. Cards can be slipped under the magicians palm and over the matchstick. When they raise their hand the cards rise with it. Then they can be thrown back down on the table so the audience can see there are no wires or glue.
