Magic Deck

A magic deck of cards can come in a variety of colors, styles and configurations. Many magicians use regular playing cards or at least that is what they would like people to believe. Bicycle is the number one brand of cards because of their smooth flow on the table and other cards. That flow is caused by miniature divots on the top and bottom of the card similar to a golf ball but almost invisible. These divots allow the air to create a cushion under the card allowing for crisp flourishes.

A magic deck can be many different colors, many even have different colored numbers and shapes than their regular playing card counterpart. Some really are regular decks of cards with magical designs to promote the allure and mysticism the magician nurtures. Many are trick decks, or gaffed decks.

A magic deck used by a magician is often gaffed, or has trick cards in it. The black tiger rising card is a trick deck that allows the magician to float selected cards from the deck while clearly not touching the cards. There are strings, wires or magnets either. Trick decks can be quite entertaining to learn and perform with.
