Magic Shop

A magic shop specializes in everything relating to magic but there are two basic types of these shops, those that sell items for performing sleight of hand and those that sell items they believe are really magical. The latter often has crystal balls, tarot cards, monkey fists and spell books. They have occult symbols and artifacts and possibly even love potions and other similar items.

The great majority of magic shops are for magicians as opposed to wizards and witches. There is no real magic behind any of their tricks, and people understand that but are still amazed when a unexpected thing happens. This suspension of disbelief is very important for magicians, a heckler can easily ruin an otherwise good show. These magic accessories are more like props than magical items.

A magic shop can be found in many cities and very easily online. The supplies are readily available to anyone who has the desire, patience and tenacity to learn. It may be difficult to find a magician to teach a beginner however, the adage “a magician never reveals his tricks” is a truism among professional magicians, other than Penn and Teller who have become famous by revealing magicians tricks.
